SFB 985 extended for third funding period!

May 29, 2020. A huge success for the SFB 985: The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) has extended the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 985 for the third and last funding period! This means that it will be supported for another four years until 2024. This was decided by the responsible Grants Committee which had to meet via video conference due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

CRCs enable researchers to pursue innovative, challenging, complex and long-term research projects, thereby supporting the further development of core areas and structures at the applicant universities. CRCs are funded for a maximum of twelve years. In addition to the establishment of 10 new CRCs, the Grants Committee also approved the extension of 23 existing CRCs for an additional funding period, including six CRC/Transregios.
